It is widely recognised that training and developing high quality engineers is key to maintaining and growing a sustainable manufacturing base in the UK.
The DRO group has consistently seen engineering apprenticeships as the most postive way they can support this initiative and, at the same time, help maintain a source of well trained recruits to meet their own business needs.
Over recent years, the Denholm’s apprentice programme has been exclusively based at our Aintree site in Liverpool. However, we are pleased to report that Jordan Challinor has been taken on as an apprentice at our Stoke site; C E Edwards. This is the first apprentice at C E Edwards for almost 10 years.
C E Edwards Engineering Manager Karl Strzala says:
We have seen significant developments at C E Edwards over recent years as we work ever more closely with Denholm Rees O'Donnell at the group's Liverpool site. We know we need to maintain the same standards and procedures across the whole company and taking on Jordan is a real statement of our commitments to the future. We look forward to working with Jordan and developing his skills to all our benefit.
