Responding to the needs of its customers, C E Edwards is pleased to announce the purchase of its largest-ever CNC horizontal boring machine. This £350,000 addition to the extensive range of equipment available through the company offers a greater capacity than any other similar machine in the group, and will be the fastest and most efficient solution for many projects.

Bigger and better

As economic confidence grows across the UK and the requirements of clients grow and evolve, C E Edwards and sister company Denholm Rees & O’Donnell felt it was the right time to make this major investment. The decision is a continuation of an ongoing programme of investment both in plant and machinery and in the company’s premises in order to maximise efficiency. While the majority of these changes in recent years have been focused on Denholms in Liverpool, the new boring machine will be located at the C E Edwards base in Stoke on Trent.

The group is constantly looking at and monitoring its machinery and capacity against changing needs and technology, and is delighted that this latest large-scale purchase will provide the team with another important tool to continue completing work in all fields to the very highest specification. Coming soon

The order was placed at the end of September and it is planned that the machine will be in production in March 2014. The company has welcomed the strong interest already shown by customers, and is now working on plans for opening a double shift at C E Edwards to ensure the anticipated increase in volume of work does not affect the speed, efficiency and professionalism with which every contract is carried out.
