Eligibility: Right to work in the UK; UK resident

Salary: £17.26 – £18.45/hr (Approx. £35k-£37.5k)

Potential Earnings: With O/T, up to £48k-£62k

Hours: 39 hrs/week + overtime @ x 1.5

Shift: Single Days: Mon-Thurs 7.30-16.30, Fri 7.30-12.30

Position

We have an exciting opportunity for a precision centre lathe turner to join our Precision Pump Shaft Cell at our Liverpool site. The role will involve working from precision drawings to roughout and finish turn shafts up to 4m in length from raw bar stock and forgings of various grades of steel, stainless steel, and alloy steels on a centre lathe.

Requirements

Essential candidate requirements:

• NVQ 3 or equivalent
• Previous experience in using steadies and grinding precision pump shafts up to 4.0m in length.
• Ability to work from detailed engineering drawings
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Systems
• Previous experience in using steadies and turning precision pump shafts up to 4.0m in length
• Previous experience with machining of exotic metals (super duplex, duplex, 718, x750, Hastelloy, Monel etc)
• Experience machining exotic metals (e.g., super duplex, duplex, 718, x750, Hastelloy, Monel)
• Previous experience in a similar role (2yrs min)
• Strong planning and organizing skills
• Effective communication with peers and management
• Attention to detail

Preferred experience but not essential requirements:

• Previous experience in finish turning multi-stage pump shafts
• Other skills within a subcontract machine shop
• Production of valve and pump components
• Serving the Nuclear, Defence, oil, gas, fluid, and power generation sectors
• Proficient in Office 365 and ERP Systems
