Potential Earnings: With O/T, up to £50k-£60k
Hours: 39 hrs/week + overtime @ x 1.5
Shift: Single Days: Mon-Thurs 7.30-16.30, Fri 7.30-12.30

Position
We have an exciting opportunity for a precision cylindrical grinder to join our Precision Pump Shaft Cell at our Liverpool site. The role will involve working from precision drawings to rough and finish grind various types of shafts up to 4m in length from semi finish turned shafts of various grades of steel, stainless steel, and alloy steels on manual cylindrical grinder.
Requirements
Essential candidate requirements:
- NVQ 3 or equivalent
- Previous experience in using steadies and grinding precision pump shafts up to 4.2m in length.
- Ability to work from detailed engineering drawings
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Systems
- Experience machining exotic metals (e.g., super duplex, duplex, 718, x750, Hastelloy, Monel)
- Previous experience in a similar role (2yrs min)
- Strong planning and organizing skills
- Effective communication with peers and management
- Attention to detail
Preferred experience but not essential requirements:
- Previous experience in finish grinding multi-stage pump shafts.
- Other skills within a subcontract machine shop
- Production of valve and pump components
- Serving the Nuclear, Defence, oil, gas, fluid, and power generation sectors
- Proficient in Office 365 and ERP Systems
