Salary – £15.99 – £17.09/hr (Subject to skills & experience) (Approx. – 32.4k – 34.6k + Overtime)

Hours – 39 hrs per week + overtime

Shift – Single Days – Mon – Thurs 7.30 – 16.30 & Fri 7.30 – 12.30.

Location – Aintree, Liverpool

Position

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Quality Control Department as a Quality engineer/Inspector. The role will primarily involve inspecting products using both traditional inspection techniques and using our latest CMM machine, in addition to this they will be responsible for the review and creation of the Quality Documentation Packs associated with the finished products.

Overview

The Quality Engineer will work directly for the Senior Quality Engineer and will primarily be responsible for the inspection of components, associated quality reports and documentation.

Successful candidates will be expected to:

Monitor operations, after approving production processes by confirming specifications and conducting visual and measurement tests to ensure they meet the approved systems, communicating any required changes to the appropriate supervisor.

Be competent in the inspection procedures and methods to test and measure items in relation to precision drawings and specifications using the following but not limited to gauges, micrometres, callipers, slip gauges and other electronic equipment such as talisurfs, digital height gauges etc.

Be experienced or willing to train in –

  • The use of advanced measuring techniques using Faro Gauges and CMM’s.
  • The use of creating and completing detailed dimensional reports manually using excel spread sheets or by using advanced bubble drawing software.

Be capable of –

  • Identifying non-conforming items or processes and taking the relevant action to contain, report and prevent further occurrences.
  • Creating detailed reports as and when required to the Senior Quality Engineer
  • Ensuring our internal calibration system ensuring all measuring equipment complies with the requirements ISO 9001:2015

Ensure that all internal critical documentation is worked to, to ensure compliance with customers purchase orders, quality plans, drawing details or any other customer / process associated requirements pre-manufacture and post final inspection prior to delivery.

Review all critical material or external process receipts against customer requirements and specifications ensuring compliance accompanied by the correct documentation.

Ensure all final customer documentation is compliant against the customers purchase orders, quality plans, drawing details or any other associated customer requirements prior to dispatching the order, and that copies are sent to the customer.

Be responsible for

  • Raising internal NCR’s (Non-conformance Reports) for non-conforming products, services, or documentation.
  • Notifying, and liaising with customers, suppliers, or internal staff over any non-conformances raised both internally & externally.
  • Liaising with production control, production engineering and quality control in identifying potential solutions for deviations from customer specifications through concession requests direct to customers.

Be required to

  • Assist in internal & external Quality Audits
  • Attend customer sites for Quality related issues.

Requirements

Essential candidate requirements:

  • Educated to ONC level or equivalent (engineering discipline desirable)
  • Detailed knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standard
  • 2 years min Experience in a previous or similar Quality role
  • Experience of Management Systems auditing (Internal & External)
  • Good Planning and Organising skills demonstrating attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate with peers, management, customers & vendors.
  • Hold a valid Full UK Driving License
  • Experience / Working Knowledge of Office 365 & ERP Systems
  • Experience working within the Oil, Gas, Fluid and Power generation industry sectors.

Preferred experience but not essential:

  • Previous experience from within a manufacturing / engineering environment
  • ISO 9001 Auditor qualifications
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety (OHSA 18001) and Environment (ISO 14001) Standards
  • Programming & operating a CMM.
