Over the past few months we have been talking about the major new capital investment at C E Edwards. This investment is now having a positive impact on activity in the business and as a consequence we are now actively recruiting staff across the business.
We have recently appointed 2 machine operators to work on our conventional tools and our new, state-of-the art CNC horizontal borer (more info here)
Recruiting the next generation
Apprentices have always been a valued part of the team at both Denholm’s and C E Edwards.
As well as existing apprenticeships at Denholm, Rees & O’Donnell, we are actively recruiting 2 Engineering Apprentices to work at our C E Edwards site in Stoke on Trent.
Having staff with the necessary experience and skills to deliver the top quality service demanded by our customers is vital to our success and the management team have a long term commitment to building those skills from within to replace older skilled staff as they retire.
We know how important new blood is to the success to our business and there is no question that an engineering apprenticeship is a great way for young people who have the commitment and drive to succeed to develop skills and talent to make them valuable and valued members of our team - Alan Hayes, MD
Apprenticeships typically run for up to 4 years and are each tailored to the individual apprentice. the company is proud of it’s track record in delivering full time jobs on eth back of completed apprenticeships.
As well as planning for the next generation, C E Edwards are also recruiting a experienced sub-contract Production Engineer to fill a role reporting directly to the Operations Manager. The role includes both production planning and supervision – across both conventional and CNC machinery and also direct contact with customers and handling quotations.
