As well as the ongoing commitment to investing in our equipment and software infrastructure, Denholms recognises that the best systems and equipment in the world are rendered useless without an effective, dedicated and qualified team of specialists.

Part of the Denholms mission is to nurture talent from within and a recent example of this strategy is Nick Hayes who joined Denholms as a technical apprentice back in in 2001.

Working with the Production Engineering Manager Ian Hennessey, Nick did a 5 year apprenticeship, completing his National Certificate in Manufacturing Engineering. He continued his education part-time at St Helens College, gaining a HNC then HND in 2007 before going on to John Moores University.

His time at university was crowned with a First Class Honours Degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering.

 “It’s been quite a journey since I joined the company ten years ago” says Nick.
“I am extremely grateful for all the training and support Denholm’s have provided.
Without them I don’t believe I would have achieved what I have.”
